Performance Activity (The Necks – The Boys)

Since the composition activity already has a large performance element embedded into I didn’t feel the need to write a performance task. Alternatively though, students could play through and interpret a series of graphic scores by artists such as Cage, Stockhausen, Ligeti, Zorn and others. Interpreting graphic scores at a performance level will give students a better understanding when writing their own graphic notation for the composition activity.
